| The 1966-built New York Central M-4979 Jet-Powered RDC was a one-of-a-kind piece of railroad equipment. Equipped with a pair of J47 boosters similar to those used on a B-36 or Boeing B-47 "Stratojet" bomber, the modified RDC-3 broke land speed light rail records with speeds of over 183 miles per hour. This specially made custom version can easily break this scale speed record, and is fully equipped with all the appropriate lights and sounds for a train with aspirations of flight!
