Throughout the Midwest you’d be hard pressed to find a train service as iconic and elegant as The Silver Streak Zephyr. This service contained the luxurious EMD E5A nicknamed “The Speeding Bullet” and it sure lived up to the name. Named after a movie of the same name, the Silver Streak Zephyr was a short distance luxury train that operated between Lincoln, Nebraska and Kansas City with stops in Omaha and St. Joseph. The consist featured a unique EMD E5A and special Budd built corrugated cars to create a streamlined look.
