The Kato Power Pack SX 22-018BK-1 is the updated 2024 version of Kato’s classic model train controller, now featuring a sleek black housing. Designed for both N and HO scale analog (DC) layouts, it utilizes Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology to ensure exceptionally smooth operation and realistic slow-speed crawling for your locomotives.

The Power Pack SX Advantage

• Compatibility: Fully compatible with the Kato Unitrack system, including snap-on sockets for turnout control switches and direct plug-ins for feeder tracks.

• Output: Delivers a rated current of 1.2A

• Safety: Features built-in overload and short-circuit protection with a manual reset button.

• Upgradeable Power: Includes a standard AC wall adapter for out-of-the-box use, it can be upgraded with specialized adapters (sold separately) for larger HO layouts (22-083) or N scale (22-082).

• Utilizes pulse width modulation (PWM control) for slow operation, allowing for a realistic train experience.
• Lights can be turned on from a stop (may vary by vehicle).
• Equipped with a two-color LED indicator: green for normal operation and red for anomalies.
